'asheqan-e din o dunya baz ra khasiyati-ast
Kan nabashad zahedan-e mal o jah-anduz ra
Digari ra dar kamand avar kay ma khod bande-im
Risman dar pa-y hasjat nist dastamuz ra
Yet lovers who lose their faith
And world forfeit, a certain talent gain back
What puritans amassing rank and riches lack.
Find someone else to snare with your lasso
For we ourselves are docile slaves;
A house-trained servant does not need shackles on his feet.
