Attab Haddad

Born to Iraqi parents in the UK, Attab found his way to the oud after a career in Finance and a degree in sound engineering. It was only then that he discovered a surprising aptitude and affinity for the instrument and embarked on a deeper study. In 2008 he founded the Attab Haddad Quintet which plays original compositions drawing on Middle Eastern music, Flamenco, Jazz and contemporary music creating a sound that is unique to the band: deep resonances, delicate percussion and rhapsodic melodic structures, love of unexpected twists and turns.
