Malambo is a quartet performing the uplifting canción criolla and black musical traditions of Peru. The coast of Peru is a land brimming with passionate stories, of love, conquest, death, beauty, slavery and nostalgia. These visceral subjects are captured and expressed in the wonderfully crafted songs of canción criolla. This is music from the ‘poor’ neighbourhoods of simple people, incorporating African, Spanish and Andean influences from the cultural melting pot of Peru - vibrant, intense and… fun!
