  • Professor David Hesmondhalgh (Professor of Media and Music Industries, University of leeds)
  • Media sociologist David Hesmondhalgh is a leading scholar of music and the music industry, director of the Media Industries Research Centre at Leeds and author of numerous books including The Cultural Industries (Sage, now in its third edition). In this talk he will be discussing his latest book Why Music Matters (Wiley/Blackwell 2013) a landmark study of the social value of music.
