In November 2001, SOAS hosted the sixth international 'Cultural Diversity in Music Education' symposium. In addition to a day of workshops and talks for 25 teachers and 50 trainee teachers, workshops and papers were given showcasing work in popular and traditional musics by colleagues from America, Britain, Finland, Germany, India, Indonesia, The Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, South Africa, Zimbabwe. The programme and papers , including practical guides designed to be of use in classroom settings, can be found on the CDIME website.
