"Media and Political Violence" Book Launched

On Wednesday 21 November at SOAS, the Centre for Media and Film Studies held a successful book launch of "Media and Political Violence," edited by Annabelle Sreberny, SOAS Professor of Global Media and Communications; Hillel Nossek, Academic Director of the Teaching and Research Authority of the College of Management Academic Studies (Tel-Aviv); and Prasun Sonwalkar, Senior Lecturer at the School of Cultural Studies, University of West England. The contributions aim to provide empirically-grounded case studies of media coverage of political violence, both contemporary and historical, and suggest some new approaches and trajectories for research.
The launched featured a panel of four speakers - Nossek, Sreberny, Stuart Allan, Professor of Journalism, The Media School at Bournemouth University; and Mark Hobart, SOAS Senior Lecturer, who discussed the arguments of the book. A lively discussion ensued.
