The AHRC have introduced a new scheme for postgraduate studentships from 2009. Institutions apply to the AHRC under the Block Grant Partnership Scheme. Further information about the scheme is available from the AHRC website at www.ahrc.ac.uk.
The School has been successful in its bid to the AHRC’s Block Grant Partnership Scheme and has been awarded Master’s and Doctoral studentships for five years from 2009-10. There will be studentships over the 5 year period in the following subject areas:
- Asian Language and Culture
- History
- Film Studies
- History of Art, Architecture and Design
- Linguistics
- Middle Eastern and African Language and Culture
- Music
- Law
- Religious Studies
Applicants will no longer apply for funding directly to the AHRC but will apply for studentships through the School. Subject area panels will assess applicants and select a shortlist. A School advisory panel will assess the shortlisted candidates and nominate applicants for the AHRC studentships.
