On 20th July Andrew Dorward participated in a workshop in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on "Sustainable Intensification and Increased Productivity in African Food and Agricultural Systems".
The workshop was organised by the UK Government Foresight project ‘Global Food and Farming Futures’ (see http://www.foresight.gov.uk/) and was run as part of the FARA Africa Agriculture Science Week (http://www.faraweek.org/index.php).
Andrew presented a paper written with Professor Ephraim Chirwa on ‘The Malawi Agricultural Input Subsidy Programme: 2005-6 to 2008-9’. The paper is available for download online at SOAS ePrints. A shorter version is due for publication in January 2011 in the International Journal of Agricultural Sustainability (IJAS) dated (volume 9:1).
