Appointment of new Professor in CeDEP

CeDEP is delighted that Professor Bhavani Shankar will be joining the Centre for Development Environment and Policy at SOAS to take up a Chair in International Food, Agriculture and Health in January of 2010. This chair will be funded initially under the Leverhulme Centre for Integrative Agriculture and Health Research (LCIRAH) within the London International Development Centre (LIDC) where CeDEP academic staff have their London offices. Bhavani comes to us from the University of Reading where he has been working on a range of agricultural , health and development issues. We are very much looking forward to his joining the CeDEP team.
