CDPR Research Grant Success
15 May 2011
CDPR is delighted to announce that it has been successful in helping faculty members to secure funding for two large research projects at SOAS:
Members of the Development Studies department and CDPR have secured funding from the ESRC for a project entitled ‘Labour Conditions and the Working Poor in China and India’. The project, which will commence in September 2011, is led by Dr. Jens Lerche and involves a number of SOAS and external researchers in China and India.
Researchers in the Economics Department and CDPR (together with researchers at Leeds University and 13 other international partner institutions) are in the final stages of securing almost €8 million EU FP7 funding for research on ‘Financialisation, Economy, Society and Sustainable Development’. SOAS is set to receive around €950,000 of this funding over 5 years, with the project set to begin in August 2011.
