31 August 2012
SOAS, University of London, has been chosen as a pioneering partner for the UnLtd and Higher Education Funding Council for England Support Initiative.
Social entrepreneurship is a rapidly growing movement within Higher Education and during the next 18 months SOAS will work with UnLtd to place it at the heart of the School.
“I am proud that SOAS has been named one of 56 Higher Education Institutions in England to partner with UnLtd to embed a culture of social entrepreneurship within our School and across the Higher Education sector.”
“We look forward to sharing knowledge with other partners and the innovative social enterprises our staff and students will develop here at SOAS,” said Professor Paul Webley, SOAS Director.
The bid was led by SOAS’ Enterprise Office with help from many areas in the School, including the Careers Office, the Students’ Union, Estates and Facilities and a number of academics.
“We are delighted to be part of this fantastic initiative as it fits so well with the interests of many of our students and builds on the foundations we have put in place,” said Claire Hardesty, Business Development Manager.
