Dr Laura Hammond Involved in Campaign to Protect Remittance Corridors Between the UK and Somalia

2 January 2014

Laura Hammond was heavily involved in the campaign to protect remittance corridors between the UK and Somalia, organizing a petition signed by over 100 academics and researchers which was then adapted into an e-petition that was signed by over 105,000 people (including British Somali Olympic champion Mo Farah). The campaign was named by the Nadeem Javaid of the Huffington Post as the best campaign of 2013.

Laura continues to provide regular feedback to the Safer Corridor Working Group, coordinated by the Department for International Development.
