Dr Sarah Keenan, a scholar in the School of Law at SOAS, University of London has been announced joint winner of the Socio-Legal Studies Association (SLSA) Article Prize 2014 for her article in Modern Law Review (2013).

The scholar's article 'Property as Governance: Time, Space and Belonging in Australia’s Northern Territory Intervention' analyses two cases brought by Aboriginal Australians against the Australian government's acquisition of long leases of their land under the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007.

The prize-giving will take place at the SLSA annual conference at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, where winners will also take part in author-meets-reader sessions.

The SLSA, formed in 1990 in the UK, provides an annual forum for socio-legal scholars to meet and disseminate their work.
