The SOAS World Music Summer School, taking place at SOAS, University of London, will offer a range of intensive and inspiring courses for its 2014 programme of events.
The annual programme, now it its twelfth year, will offer practical workshops, taster sessions and master classes; musical tuition ranges from Transylvania to Senegal, from Brazil to Bali.
Students can learn about new instruments such as the Mbira, also known as the thumb piano, or come and twist and turn the Ghanaian Kpanlogo dance, or discover the unknown depths and heights of your voice through the enchanting sounds of the Mongolian Khöömii.
SOAS student comments have included: “The best training course I have been on - fascinating, instructional, relaxed and very productive." Another described it as "highly enjoyable, educational and musically challenging."
The SOAS World Music Summer School is available to students of all academic backgrounds, beginners to advanced, amateur and professional. Places can now be booked and the programme itself can be picked up in reception.
