Nadje Al-Ali, Professor of Gender Studies at SOAS, University of London has been awarded the The Evelyn Shakir Non-Fiction Award at the 2014 Arab American Book Award for her co-edited book on what it means to be Iraqi.

The SOAS, University of London led consortium ‘Sustainable Funding for Language-based Area Studies’, funded by the HEFCE Postgraduate Support Scheme with match-funding from SOAS, has a scholarship fund of £460,000 to award in 2014-15.
