Description
This teaching certificate course is designed to meet the rapidly growing demand for trained and qualified teachers of Chinese in the UK . The course is suitable both as an initial introduction as well as an in service training programme in the teaching of Chinese. With a brief introduction to the fundamentals of language learning and language teaching, it not only caters for those who wish to become teachers of Chinese and have no teaching experience to date, but also serves to refresh and sharpen the teaching techniques of those who are already teaching.
By the end of the course candidates should be able to demonstrate
- a good understanding of the main issues in language learning and language teaching in general and in the field of Chinese language learning and teaching in particular;
- a good insight into the Chinese language in terms of how to facilitate the learning of Chinese by English speakers; and
the practical skills required for teaching Chinese at initial and intermediate levels to speakers of English who want to learn Chinese for various purposes.
