A one year course in upper intermediate spoken and written Urdu

Description

The course aims to increase the vocabulary covered in the second year and to broaden its usage in the spoken and written context; to read authentic texts on cultural issues and topics of concern to contemporary developments in Pakistan and India ; to discuss these topics to improve listening and speaking skills.

Method

The course is taught in English and Urdu and includes coverage of the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing and a balance between communicative activities, structure practice and grammar. Class size is limited to twelve to allow close involvement.

The fee for each ten week term is £255 payable in advance

Application Procedures

Completed application forms together with the fee payment should be returned to SOAS Language Centre. Please note that classes may fill up quickly. In some cases, additional classes are set up; however it is best to apply early in order to avoid disappointment. Contact us for an application form or use our downloadable form.

Materials

Our course materials page shows you what you need to buy for this course. Course materials are not included in the course fee and can be purchased from the SOAS bookshop bookshop@soas.ac.uk. You are advised not to purchase course materials until your course has been confirmed. Registered students will be informed as soon as the course is confirmed, no later than five days before the scheduled start.
