Thresholds
In the case of service contracts the threshold value will be the aggregated value over the period of the contract. The exception being in the case of EU tenders, where the aggregate period needs only be to a maximum of four years.
Exemptions
In exceptional circumstances, exemptions to competitive quotations/tendering requirements may be considered. Such exemptions would have to be approved by the Director of Finance and Administration. Examples of exemptions may be as follows: Work of a specialist nature, emergency requirements, and extended requirements based on a matching specification. However EU legislation, where applicable, takes precedent. Any exemption requires completion of an ‘Exemption to Competitive Quotations/Tendering Requirements Form’ which requires the approval of the School’s Purchasing Manager.
