Jewish and Islamic views of their shared past have tended to be influenced by the day-to-day realities of contemporary political conflicts in the Middle East. How has the relationship between Jews and Muslims changed over time? Do scholarly approaches allow us to reconstruct the past? Can we have a genuine understanding of how the situation changed over time?
