Biography

Verapat Pariyawong teaches classes on Thai law and politics at SOAS and also briefed parliamentarians, officers of international organisations, multinational corporations and international media on subjects relating to Thailand.

Verapat is a member of the Centre of Law in Asia and offered lectures as part of the Rule of Law in Thailand project which he helped SOAS to launch in 2015. A recognised Thai lawyer and political commentator, Verapat also advises private clients and previously served as Special Counsel to Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Honorary Advisor to Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand.

He holds a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School where he was also a Fulbright Scholar.
