Biography
Carlos is the Director and Commissioning Editor of SOAS Radio. He has taught at City University, London and has delivered lectures and training programmes on Communication for Development in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Tunis, and guest lectures for the Ministry of Youth in Oman and New York University in London. He has done consultancy work on Community Media and Communications for Forest Peoples in the Republic of Congo, Maasai Pastoralist Communities in Tanzania, Indigenous Communities in the Venezuelan Amazon and other projects supported by the World Bank, the Mo Ibrahim Foundation and the BBC Media Action.
He teaches the courses ‘Development Communication’ in the Development Studies Department, and ‘Presenting World Music on Radio’ in the Music Department and was awarded the SOAS Director’s Teaching Prize in 2009.
Carlos is a Trustee of International Development Organisation EveryChild.
