Biography
Teaching includes varied posts in the USA, Tanzania, Kenya and the UK while consultancies and research include those countries and Ethiopia, Ghana, Mozambique, Sudan, Zimbabwe. Currently, editor of Artists and art education in Africa, area editor for the ‘Grove-Oxford Encyclopedia of African Art’ with research projects on picturing in eastern Africa and the Akamba carving movement (Kenya).
