Sonja first developed her interest in distance-learning methods of teaching during ten years at the Open University, and continues that interest as Academic Director of Finance MSc programmes at CeFiMS. From 1992 to 1999 she took academic responsibility for delivery of the MSc programme in Financial Economics which SOAS presented in cooperation with the National Economics University, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Mombusho Research Scholar at the University of Hiroshima, Japan; lecturing posts at the Open University, Milton Keynes, UK and at the University of Hertfordshire, Hertford, UK and at SOAS, University of London.
