Biography
Alinafe is a Mo Ibrahim Foundation Scholar for 2009. Alinafe was also a British Chevening Scholar in 2006. His research interests are exploring links between governance and development and more particularly decentralization in developing countries. Alinafe has worked for International NGOs and Regional Inter-Governmental Agencies in Africa.
PhD Research
Malawi is implementing a decentralization policy whose goals focus on cementing democratic gains at local level and promoting poverty alleviation in Malawi. Alinafe is interested in exploring how decentralization is shaping and influencing the development planning landscape at local level, and particularly exploring the question in terms of the relationship between decentralization and local government performance in delivery of social services and development programs.
