This research is primarily concerned with the interface between the enforcement of arbitral awards and sovereign immunity doctrine in the context of investor-state arbitration. The major problem of investor-state arbitration is the consent of a state to waive its immunity, particularly immunity from execution or enforcement, in both bits arbitration clauses and domestic sovereign immunity law and legislation.
