Biography

Lucia Pradella studied Philosophy and Social Sciences in Berlin (Humboldt University) and Venice (Ca’ Foscari), where she held a MA in Philosophy and a MA in Migration. Her research interests include: political economy and sociology of globalisation, international migration, capital-labour relations; history of political economy and of political thought.

She is undertaking her Doctoral work in the University of Naples Federico II and at Paris X Nanterre, and she is researching globalization and the critique of political economy.

In 2007 she conducted a research work in the Italian trade union FIOM/CGIL, focused on immigration and transformation of the trade union.

From January 2011 she is a research fellow at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht (The Netherlands), with a project on ‘Politics beyond Eurocentrism’. She is a member of the editorial board of Historical Materialism, and she is currently a Research Assistant in the Laboratory of Training and Research on Immigration at the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari.
