Ghana’s economy has achieved significant growth rates over the last decade, with declining poverty levels. However, contrary to economic theory, this growth has been achieved with little or no structural change, an increasing informal sector (and the idea of ‘jobless’ growth) and rising inequality. This research seeks to assess the influence of sectoral growth patterns on poverty and inequality, through labour market outcomes.
