Biography

My research focuses on dynamics of gender and sexuality in African Christianity, particularly on religious transformations in masculinity and on the controversy surrounding homosexuality in contemporary African Christian contexts.

My current research project is: ‘A Saint in Times of AIDS: Religion and Masculinity Politics in Postcolonial Zambia’. The project is funded by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).
