PhD Research

The PhD has two aims. First, to examine British imperialism in Iraq since the end of the Cold War. This will include both political analyses (an examination of Britain’s imperial policies) and economic analyses (an examination of the interests driving these policies). Second, in the light of British imperialism in Iraq, to examine the relations between British and US imperialisms in this period. Again, this would include both political and economic analyses. The PhD will be based on a Marxist theory of imperialism.
