A professional in geomatics, now a historian of political ideas in twentieth-century Korea.

PhD Research

I examine various strands of political thought emergent in the Protestant community in Korea in the first half of the twentieth century. Of particular interest is the extent of convergence and divergence between republicanism and liberalism found in many Christian intellectuals and how the new Christian ideas of politics to which they appealed were incorporated in their imagining of a future political community.
