Steve Itugbu obtained his PhD in Politics and International Studies from the SOAS, University of London. Preceding his doctoral studies, he had served as an aide to Nigeria's former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. Since leaving government, he has shown demonstrable potential for research excellence in his chosen field, a fact made more manifest by his published book, America’s War on Terror (Athena, London 2008). His thesis Nigeria’s Foreign Policy under Olusegun Obasanjo: Process, Ethics, and the Example of Darfur.

Itugbu has real life skills drawn largely from his time as an advisor; and his participation in several bilateral and multilateral summits across the world.  Itugbu, who has to his credit several international radio and television documentaries such as Options before the Third World and Tackling Africa’s Underdevelopment has also lined up the following for publication: Africa as the New Front, The Triumph of Genocide, Organized Confusion and his PhD Thesis.
