Before she joined SOAS, Dr. Hongping Annie Nie was Faculty Tutor in Contemporary Chinese Politics and Society, Faculty of Oriental Institute, University of Oxford.  She was also a core member of the Leverhulme China’s War with Japan Programme, Faculty of History, University of Oxford.  Her research interests include Nationalism, Foreign Relations and Diplomacy, Educational and Cultural Development in Modern and Contemporary China.  She was interviewed by the BBC World Service on her research work on Chinese patriotic online games.  Dr. Nie has established a large network, working with Chinese government, academic institutions and professionals in educational and cultural industry.  She also works as consultant for Oxford Analytica, Oxford Education Enterprises and other organizations.
