Biography

Helen is currently maternity cover Subject Librarian for South Asia Studies and Development Studies at SOAS Library. She completed her undergraduate studies in Southeast Asian History at SOAS in 2003 followed by a MA in Library and Information Studies at UCL completed in 2006. Helen’s interest in South Asia developed during her work with the collections of the Royal Asiatic of Society of Great Britain and Ireland, where she worked as Assistant Librarian from 2011 until she joined SOAS. She is a member of the steering committee of the South Asia Archive and Library Group (SAALG) and currently serves as Chair. In her work with the group, which provides a forum for cooperation, discussion and promotion of library and archives for South Asian studies in the UK, she has helped to organize several SAALG conferences including: ‘The Mughals’ British Library February, 2013; ‘South Asian Arts and Crafts’, Norwich, July 2013; ‘South Asia Archives’ University of Cambridge Library, February 2014.
