Biography

David Fisk is holder of the Laing O’Rourke Chair in Systems Engineering and Innovation at Imperial College. He previously held the Royal Academy of Engineering Chair at Imperial College London in Engineering for Sustainable Development. At Imperial he is Director of the Laing O’Rourke Centre for Systems Engineering and Innovation and is a co-director of the BP Urban Energy Systems Program. He is a Past President of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers and serves as a Non-Executive Member of the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority.


He led the BP cross campus advanced energy in buildings programme in 2002. Until December 2005 he was Chief Scientific Adviser to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister in the UK. He has been a member of the Council of the Royal Academy of Engineering, the RIBA Buildings Futures Group, and the Government’s Commission on Environmental markets and Economic Performance.
