This workshop is aimed at meeting the needs of recently appointed PhD Supervisors, or those with less experience in this field. It will be run by Professor John Wakeford, The Missenden Centre for the Development of Higher Education - http://www.missendencentre.co.uk/johnw.htm.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand SOAS and QAA policies and codes
• Know SOAS expectations for the PhD
• Have an overview of the supervision process from start to finish
• Understand the roles of supervisor and supervisee
• Be able to manage the PhD process
