Information for Students

Students' Union and NUS resources

SOAS Students' Union also offers help and advice on finding accommodation.

They manage a Facebook group where you can find other SOAS students looking for housing and form a group to look together. Other students also also post information about available rooms and houses, and there are some useful resources under the 'files' section.

Join SOAS Accommodation 2013-14 Facebook group.

SOAS Union has set up a new sofa sharing initiative to help fellow SOASians who are in-between homes. SOAS sofas is a network of students who have a spare sofa, airbed or camping mat in their home, which they can advertise to other students via the SOAS Sofas Forums -

The SOAS Students' Union also organises a Residents' Council in Paul Robeson and Dinwiddy which meets monthly to discuss any problems and come up with new ideas for the halls. These concerns and initiatives are taken directly to the management, giving residents a say in how the halls are run. Contact Leah Edwards on le8@soas.ac.uk for more information.

National Union of Students (NUS)

The National Union of Students (NUS) is  a confederation of 600 students' unions, amounting to more than 95% of all higher and further education unions in the UK. Through our member students' unions, we represent the interests of more than seven million students.

They promote, defend and extend the rights of students and develop and champion strong students’ unions.

NUS resources include plenty of useful information on their Accommodation Advice Pages.
