South Asia

Most courses that run across the full year are available to all visiting students - whether at SOAS for the full year, term 1 only or terms 2&3 only.  However, full year language courses are not open to students at a beginner's level if they start in term 2.

Please note that the following South Asia courses are NOT open to associate students:

  • Culture and Conflict in the Himalaya
  • Imagining Pakistan: culture, politics and gender
  • Postcolonial Theory and Practice
  • South Asian languages at postgraduate level may not run every year but there are a number of undergraduate language classes available

Dissertations, independent study projects and extended essays are also not suitable for associate students.
