Fiorella Cerbasio, Erasmus, Year Abroad

London is amazing. It is a big city, there is always something going on, always something interesting to do. Also, you can move around easily and fast. It is a frenetic life, but it is just part of the fun. If you want you can also relax in a park. I particularly love parks as there are not many in my city. You can enjoy art, nature and everything else in the same city. I really think it is amazing!

What courses did you take at SOAS?

What did you enjoy most about your academic studies?

Probably the method of studying. Writing essays was difficult, but I really felt I was producing something and talking about my own ideas and topic I liked. Moreover, I had to read many interesting books on these topics. The Library was a great support and it is another thing I greatly enjoyed. It is easy to use and find things and there is always something useful.

How did you spend your free time?

I tried to do as much as possible, since it was my only year in London. So I joined some SOAS societies, like the Japan society, which was very interesting. During the weekend I went to clubs, pubs or friends’ places. I have also travelled as travelling from London is easy and cheap. The place that I liked the most was Scotland. Highlands are maybe the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
Finally, I spent my time visiting London, which is full of amazing things to do and see, like beautiful parks, museums and original places.
