About this event

Panellists: Dafydd Fell (SOAS), Jonathan Sullivan (Nottingham), Malte Kaeding (Surrey), Lara Momesso (Portsmouth), and Victor Chan (BBC Chinese Service)

On January 16, 2016 Taiwan will hold its latest round of national elections. These include both presidential and parliamentary contests. Taiwan has already experienced two changes of ruling parties through elections since democratization. Will we see a third such power transfer in 2016? This panel will consider how the campaign compares to previous national elections, potential outcomes and consequences for Taiwan’s domestic and external relations.
