Student Status Letters

Some certification letters will be automatically produced for new students as soon as the formal enrolment has been completed:

  • Confirmation of Enrolment
    This letter provides confirmation that you are fully enrolled onto a programme at SOAS and contains relevant information for Council Tax exemption, and other official bodies.
  • Bank Letter
    This letter can be produced upon receipt of the name and branch address of the bank where you wish to open your student bank account.

If you require either of these letters, you will be able to visit the Registry team based temporarily in Russell Square during Welcome Week.

You must present your ID card before we can produce the letters and they will be printed on request. Please note that there are only a few members of staff available to produce these letters, so you may have to wait a little while, but you can visit the team at any time during Welcome Week once you have been provided with your ID card.

If you do not request your letter during Welcome Week, you can apply for your letters at any time during the term by completing the online request form. Please allow 10 working days for the letters to be ready for you to collect.
