I received two bachelor's degrees, in Chinese and English respectively, from Tsinghua University (Beijing). I also studied at the College of William and Mary (exchange) and the University of Oxford (visiting student). Recently I received my MA in Chinese Studies (distinction) from SOAS with a dissertation titled "'An Ideal Woman': Cross-Dressing and Male Homoerotic Desire in Modern Chinese Literature." My research interests include translation studies and the Chinese homosexual tradition. I am also an experienced literary translator.
