The EDI thought leadership series is designed to cultivate an intellectual community that facilitates learning and reflection on contemporary global questions. The series consists of three distinct interventions:

  • A quarterly seminar series
  • An annual lecture
  • A quarterly careers forum for staff

Black History Month

For Black History Month 2021, SOAS has hosted a wide range of events including a ‘Roundtable Discussion on Black Internationalist Futures’ featuring speakers Olaoluwa Ogunmodede, Brian Kagoro, and Maxine Thomas-Asante, as well as ‘My Mental Health Journey’ with Sanisha Wynter.

National Inclusion Week

National Inclusion Week is designed to celebrate everyday inclusion in all its forms. To recognise National Inclusion Week 2021, hosted by Inclusive Employers and with the theme #UnitedForInclusion, the EDI team at SOAS have run a nomination campaign to highlight and empower members of the SOAS community who bring inclusion to everything that they do. 

International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT)

The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia aims to coordinate international events that promote LGBT rights and raise awareness of LGBT discrimination.

International Women's Day (IWD) is an annual celebration of the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.
