Abstract
Pratap Rughani explores the ‘documentary moment’ as a way of bridging inter-cultural communication. This seminar features an award-winning film, Playing Model Soldiers (Channel 4) followed by discussion.
The potential for documentary film to act as an arena in which people of radically different perspectives come into relation to each other is a compelling and under-explored area of documentary practice. Pratap Rughani is interested in examining and creating newer forms of inter-cultural documentary film that cultivate the kinds of pluralized spaces through which broader understandings can evolve.
Pratap Rughani is a documentary Director and Course Leader of MA Documentary Film at London College of Communication, UAL. Research Profile: http://www.lcc.arts.ac.uk/research/research-staff-profiles/pratap-rughani/
