Dr Frances Moore Lappé
Frances Moore Lappé’s Diet for Small Planet (1971) has sold over 3 million copies and continues to awaken readers to the human-made causes of hunger and the power of our everyday choices to create the world we want. She co-founded Food First, the California-based Institute for Food and Development Policy, and now co-leads the Small Planet Institute, a collaborative network for research and popular education to bring democracy to life. She is author or co-author of 16 books, including her latest, Getting a Grip: Clarity, Creativity, and Courage in a World Gone Mad .
