About this event
As part of Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy events hosting leading practitioners of diplomacy, this lecture will examine the strategic and diplomatic dimensions of Ireland’s foreign policy amidst wider global trends.
H.E. Martin Fraser, Ambassador of Ireland to the United Kingdom, will reflect on the evolving role of Ireland in the international order. Drawing on his distinguished career in public service, including his role as Secretary General to the Government of Ireland and his involvement in the Northern Ireland Peace Process, Ambassador Fraser will offer insights into Ireland’s diplomatic priorities and the experience of being a diplomat.
The event will begin with opening remarks by Prof Adam Habib, Vice-Chancellor of SOAS University of London. A Q&A session moderated by Prof Leslie Vinjamuri will follow the lecture, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with Ambassador Fraser on contemporary issues of Irish diplomacy and life as a diplomat.
This event is organised by the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at SOAS University of London.
