Call for papers - Swahili translation workshop

SOAS Centre of African Studies and The Safal-Cornell Kiswahili Prize for African Literature are inviting translation abstracts from Swahili into other African Languages, English, Arabic and French. Shortlisted translators will be invited to a workshop to be held on Friday 28th October at SOAS University of London and will be included in an anthology of translation that will potentially be published in a special publication.
We are particularly interested in short translations of the Prize-winning manuscripts from:
1. Mkuki na Nyota Publishers:
- Mungu Hakopeshwi - Zainab Alwi Baharoon
- Mwanangu Rudi Nyumbani - Dotto Rangimoto
- Machozi Yamenishiya and/or Nna Kwetu - Mohamed Ghassani
- Mmeza Fupa - Ali Hilal Ali
2. East African Educational Publishers:
- AS Manyanza - Penzi la Damu
- Enock Maregesi - Kolonia Santita
3. Lello Mmassey - Mimi na Rais
