Verity, holds a BA in Politics (University of Nottingham), MA in International Law, Ethics and Politics (University of Birmingham) and a PhD (University of Worcester). The PhD focused on the intersections of legacy and policy during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games. For the past decade, Verity has contributed to national and international policy and governance research, including studies around diplomacy and sport. The research was funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science ‘Pre/post-doctoral’ Fellowship scheme, in partnership with Toin University of Yokohama and the University of Worcester. Outputs from this research are ongoing, including a co-edited Handbook and further research into the representation of disability at sporting events in Japan.
