Biography

Yi Li was born in Shanghai, China. She received her Ph.D. in History at SOAS University of London in 2012, and held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore between 2013 and 2015. Her research interests include colonial and postcolonial history of the Burmese Chinese community, Chinese migration and diaspora, and modern East and Southeast Asian history.
