Connaught Hall


Connaught Hall is a predominantly undergraduate, catered Hall which accommodates 230 students of from across the University of London. Two meals a day are served Monday- Friday in the spacious dining room, and brunch is served at weekends. The team aim to provide a welcoming, friendly and safe environment in which residents can study and socialise. A Residents Club Committee, elected from and by the student residents, provides social and sporting activities and runs the Hall bar. All residents are encouraged to join in with the social life of the hall.

The Hall is centrally located on Tavistock Square, which is 5 minutes walk to SOAS and within walking distance to Oxford Street, Soho and Convent Garden.

When to apply

New students to SOAS can apply any time from 1 March 2019. There is no closing date for applications, but you are advised to apply early.

Offers of accommodation are not made until mid June and will continue until September. Priority is given to students living outside the M25.

How to apply

We will write to you explaining your accommodation options and the application process. Once you have decided where you would like to live please fill out our online form making your choice and then follow the instructions which will be specific to your choice.

The first round of offers will be made mid June and will continue until September.


Connaught Hall is managed by the University of London
