Annex IX Brunei Gallery Advisory Panel
The Brunei Gallery Advisory Panel is a sub-panel of Research & Enterprise Committee
(i) The membership of the Brunei Gallery Advisory Panel will comprise:
Head of the School of Arts
Head of Galleries & Exhibitions
Two members of academic staff
Two external Lay Members
Gallery Assistant, Administrative
(ii) The remit of the Panel is to prioritise suitable projects for the programme of temporary exhibitions for visiting collections of African and Asian art and artefacts, which will complement the degree programmes of the School of Arts and other Departments of the School. The Panel will have the following terms of reference:
(a) To consider and prioritise exhibition proposals reviewed by and brought forward from the Brunei Management Group for exhibitions with associated events and conferences;
(b) To ensure that proposed exhibitions are suitable for the Brunei Gallery facilities and acceptable to the School;
(d) To oversee and review arrangements for the Schools own Collections displayed in the Foyle Special Collections Gallery.
(e) To consider and approve donations of art and artefacts in line with the Schools approved Collections Management Policy;
(f) To consider and approve object rotation and exhibition proposals as brought forward from the Brunei Management Group;
(g) To ensure that proposed exhibitions are suitable for the Foyle Special Collections Gallery facilities, and acceptable to the School;
(h) To seek advice from the Head Archivist on suitability on condition of material to be displayed drawn from the Archives;
(i) To ensure that proposals have adequate financial arrangements in place to proceed;
(j) To make regular reports to Research & Enterprise Committee with at least one report being made in each session;
(k) To oversee and review arrangements for the use and display of the Schools own Collections and those held on behalf of the Percival David Trust in the Lady David Gallery, Gordon Square.
(iii) There will normally be three ordinary meeting of the Panel each session.
